  i am an active jw and was raised as one.

  i have been watching the site for a while and thought it could benefit from the opinions of someone who is happily a member of the jw's.

  i will not get into any argumets that lead to nothing except name calling, and will not talk with anyone who is just plain mean (plenty of them in here).

  Hi Scum,

  You seen like a nice person. Ultimatly, I hope that turns out to be true.

  I have a hard time writing to you and being nice because my family has a crack down the center of it as big as the grand canyon. All do to the teachings of the WTS. Do some research and tell me your feelings on the Sept 15, '81 Watchtower's stance on how to treat family members who are not witnesses. Not your witness opinion, but your heartfelt feelings.

  Highway to heaven

  highway to heaven.

  a 45-year-old woman who was killed as she walked onto i-55 near sherman, ill., in october was revealed to have been a member of a jehovah's witnesses breakaway group that believes they should test their faith (much like snake handlers do) by standing in the middle of traffic.

  a few days before her fatal demonstration of faith, she had been pulled to safety from the same highway as she attempted to proselytize to drivers zooming by.

  It finally came down to that for that poor woman.

  Puffy, my Mom would have been willing to do that too. She would have been willing to die for those undeserving bastards. Glad I'm wiser than her.

  My niece's change of heart.....

  in my never-ending task of trying to get my niece out of jws clutches, i have good news.

  just a brief history.

  my lifetime jw mom raised my niece from the age of 9 due to my sister's alcohol and drug abuse.

  women in the bible

  recently, i was taking part in a discussion about women and how a lot of the ideas about women came from the bible.

  as we discussed this, it seemed most of the stories were negative, with the only exceptions being ruth and esther.

  negative references include references to eve, jezabel, deliah, divorced women, widows, and lot's wife, were fairly frequent.

  The Bible is a book written by "MEN".

  They throw us a few crumbs in the book but in general we are made to look like what they want us to. Something inferior.

  They are all made in God's image...and we were just an afterthought.

  What are apostates?

  first off, let me tell you that i don't view you guys, or myself, as apostates.

  that word somehow carries along with it a negative sense of destruction and hate.

  what i'm wondering is, what is an apostate then?

  I left the borg long before they started using the "A" word. I don't want to sound uneducated (a kinder word then stupid) but I wondered exactly what an apostate was.

  Holy S*** visit tomorrow from the PO

  if you folks recall, a while back i went ballistic when my boys told me they were going to now shun both their newly dis-fellowshipped friends because that is what the society said is the loving thing to do.

  sick!

  anyway, i informed the father of the two boys, an elder, that my younger unbaptized son (12) will no longer be studying or going to the meetings because i dont want him to participate in or have his young mind twisted by such unscriptural teachings.

  LET'S MAKE A LITTLE WAGER

  perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.

  as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

  since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.
